The art of Reborn is an amazing hobby that transforms a blank vinyl doll kit into a realistic piece of artwork to be cherished for many years to come. I love making Reborn babies and i am constantly striving to improve my techniques.

The Basics of Reborn

It begins with a blank kit that is washed and rid of any factory residue. I use Genesis Heat Set Paints these are painted in many thin watery layers and baked in the oven to set for 8 minutes at a time. I pay special attention to all the finer details giving me the most realistic baby.

I make my colours individually depending on the look i want to achieve, some babies are more younger and have a more blotchy newborn skintone,  some are older and a a more peaches and cream skintone.

My babies are givin quality rooted mohair or handpainted hair.

The baby is givin realistic eyes and hand applied eyelashes or Rooted eyelashes depending whether she is awake or asleep.

I use quality bodies for my babies and the doll is weighted with tiny glass beads in nylon cased bags and evenly weighted.
